[ADDED VIDEO] First Hands On: Lenovo Vibe Shot

So yeah, I’m here in Beijing, China, attending the Lenovo Tech World. Watching other journo racing away publishing their story on the event. While me? Yeah, I’m taking my time. I wanna have an easier feel, a more relaxed approach to my stories. My piece might not be the most update, but I give you… my heart thru this piece. Here you go.

Lenovo opened the presentation on the Vibe Shot about carrying a camera and a phone. Got me curious. They started with camera, a very sensitive subject to me. I carry a mirrorless camera, awesome result but still easy to carry, then transfer it to the smartphone thru a wifi sd card. It’s a bit complicated, not for everyone.

So here’s what they say about the camera…

It’s a 16MP pn the back and 8MP on the front. It has an OIS (optical image stabilizer, which helps you stabilize every shot) and a 16:9 BSI sensors (which helps you with the low light shot). Okay, sounds technical. But here’s the thing, they provide a physical button to change between pro or auto shot. Pro means manual, in case you know what you are doing around photography, might help you there.

Another good thing about the camera is it catches a picture, when the screen is off, with a double press on the power button. So you don’t miss that moment.
Sounds like an old song?

What’s new is that they have something for you who take selfie seriously. It can do a panoramic selfie. Yup, might useful if you would like to take a selfie of yourself, with your football team, or arisan group.

I did this selfie trick:

The selfie also integrates the how-old app! Ha!

What’s could also be fun for selfiers is their selfie flash. Or you might use it as a brighter flashlight.

All this, packed with a serious phone spec. Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, expandable up to 128GB, dual 4G SIM card slot. I’ve checked the band, and it will work in Indonesia. And all strapped in a full aluminium body. Solid, with Gorilla Corning Glass, and comes in 3 choices of color, black, red & white. KELAS!

At a first try, it might not replace my mirrorless camera, but I’m definitely thinking about it as a backup phone. Why? 1 thing that I haven’t mentioned was the fact that this baby will cost $349! Off course with a bit of adjustment to different countries. I mean, that’s a steal! My mirrorless alone cost more than $1000k. Really worth considering.

I did a video on this, I'll update it when I get back.

I'm back and this is it
